Axis Offers Affordable GSM Services

The latest player in the cellular industry, PT Natrindo Telepon Seluler, launched its GSM services in Java on Wednesday under its new brand name Axis. President Director and CEO Erik Aas said the company offered more simple, transparent and competitive pricing than its competitors.  Axis offered a pricing mechanism that was transparent and measurable by subscribers, offering Rp 60 for text message, Rp 60 per minute for calls between Axis numbers and Rp 600 per minute for calls between different operators.

Axis Capex US$ 500 millions
Axis, GSM cellular & 3G provider have capex US$ 500 millions to increase its network quality in Indonesia, which is will be done in the end of 2008. Erik Aas, President Director Chief Executive Officer Axis said two famous operators, Saudi Telecom Company and Maxis Communications ready to give their contribution to develop Axis business in Indonesia. The Capex include investing 3.000 new BTS tower in Java, North Sumatera, Bali and Nusa Tenggara. Now Axis BTS network concern in Central Java, Jabodetabek, West Java and North Sumatera. Soon, besides start to operate Axis Center in Surabaya & Malang, Axis will increase BTS network in East Java with add 700 new BTS tower. Targets in this year Axis have to attend in big cities in East Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara. For targets subscriber, Axis optimist to reach 2 million subscribers at the end of 2008.
